Is the Landscape of Vancouver Retail Changing?
Like many of our Canadian counterparts, the Vancouver retail market is growing and changing. Retail has become a major anchor for - if not leading - new developments. Retailers continue to set their sights on the market and announcements of new construction would suggest a new supply accounting for millions of square feet of new retail coming to fruition. Is it too much? Our panel doesn’t believe so and will share their thoughts on why Vancouver’s growth is warranted and even overdue.

Does Going Green Make Green Sense?
Sustainable building technology and systems have been around for over a decade. Yet the debate continues with respect to true costs and value. Landlords and leasing agents are feeling increased pressure from tenants that have CSR reporting needs. To attract tenants developers are pressured to keep lease rates competitive but must increase upfront capital costs for buildings and systems. Do "green" buildings lead to happier tenants, higher lease and absorption rates and ultimately more valuable buildings? Join NAIOP as our panelists debate the merits and challenges of green development in Metro Vancouver.
